Jay Roberts has worked as production designer on two feature films, ‘Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire’ in 2023 and ‘Miss the Kiss’ in 2022, both of which are due for release. He was given the opportunity to work in this capacity on a feature film by the esteemed British director Ray Burdis, the creator of ‘Love, Honour and Obey’ and ‘The Wee Man’. Whilst working with Ray Burdis, Jay Roberts led the art department upon the production of the gangster, comedy ‘Miss the Kiss’ which boasts a star cast including John Hannah, Martin Kemp, Patsy Kensit and Michelle Collins. This film is currently in post production. ‘Miss the Kiss’ was co written by the director/actor Micheal Head. He directed ‘Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire’ in 2023 and having been impressed with Jay Roberts’ work, he employed him as production designer on this gritty, gangster comedy which is due for imminent release. This film also boasts a star cast including John Hannah, Maisie Smith, Linda Robson and Alan Ford.

Following completion of the production of ‘Bermondsey Tales: Fall of the Roman Empire’ Jay Roberts worked as production designer on the short film Ain’t Nuff Time in 2023. This film is also due for imminent release and it shall be used to promote art therapy for the rehabilitation of prisoners. It is a charity film created by Imagine If Theatre Company.

Prior to this Jay Roberts worked as production designer on two short films including the dystopian BFI film ‘Lifeline’ in 2015 and the haunting drama ‘Mulo’ in 2016. He also worked as art director on a comedy/drama short film with Nigerian cast and crew called ‘The Lodgers’ in 2016.
